In preparation for opening, Parliament Pool will host a volunteer gardening/mulch-laying event on April 5 from 9 am to 1 pm.

Areas of Focus:  distributing mulch, planting plants, tending beds, miscellaneous grounds maintenance.

PPA will provide water and other refreshments.

Please bring your own gloves and any preferred tool that will make the job go easier.  We are especially in need of the following supplies:  Wheel Barrows, Rakes, Gardening Supplies.

We are soliciting donations of perennials for the hillside and beds. Examples of perennials include hosta, liriope, ornamental grasses, and other flowering plants or shrubs that come back every year and help crowd out weeds on the hillside.  Plant donations can be made April 2-5, and can be dropped off at the Pool.

Unlike last year, we won’t be planting our annuals (flowers) until the next volunteer day in May, so please don’t donate any annuals at this point.  We will be looking for them next month (it takes a lot of work to keep them healthy before the pool is open).

And remember…plant donations will count toward your Service Fee reimbursement. A donation of four plants equals one hour!
